David Surman (born 1981) is an artist based in London. He studied film animation at Newport Film School (2002) and Film Studies at the University of Warwick (2004). He spent his childhood in the remote British countryside and his work explores the world of animal forms, creating a sense of both freedom and melancholy. Surman has exhibited internationally, with recent solo exhibitions at Sim Smith London (2019, 2021), Tinimini Room, Netherlands (2022), SENS Gallery, Hong Kong (2022). He is currently preparing for a solo exhibition in South Korea. His instagram is @davidsurman_
