La Patate Chaude, an installation to raise awareness of the world of NFTs and the digital wallet.
La Patate Chaude is also an original curatorial proposal allowing the discovery of a unique digital creation by a guest artist.
La Patate Chaude takes place between the plant world (potato) and the digital world (Blockchain, NFT and NFC chip). It allows an understanding of these new paradigms of blockchain, NFT and digital wallet.
It also provides a tangible representation and experience of what it means to own a digital creative work, in the form of an NFT.
La Patate Chaude's installation also reinterprets the figure of "Proof of Work" involved in the certification process in a blockchain by inviting the public to make an effort.
Among a pile of potatoes is "The Hot Potato", the only potato containing an original NFT artwork, commissioned from theVERSEverse. The others do not contain any artwork but they allow you to be the proud owner of a ready-to-use digital portfolio to start a collection of NFT artworks.
All potatoes -potato-wallet- contain the access key to a digital wallet, thanks to an NFC sticker containing the 12 words of the secret phrase. By winning one of the potatoes, the participant discovers the 12 words that open the door to a Metamask (Ethereum) or Temple (Tezos) wallet.
Type the 12 words of the access key to a digital wallet as quickly as possible.A speed race between two participants. The one who types the fastest series of 12 words on a vintage typewriter wins! Be careful, if you make the slightest mistake you have to start the whole series of words again! The winner can then choose a potato-wallet from the pile of potatoes.
A conversation between the digital and the physical and 2023 Crypto Art Award Shortlist, The Lumen Prize.
“The poem-object is a composition that aims to combine resources from poetry and the visual arts, and to contemplate their capacity for mutual exaltation.”
— André Breton
Poème Objkt is a conversation between poetry and the visual arts brought to life through the liminal play of the physical and the digital. As contemporary expressions of Breton’s poem-object, the pieces in this exhibition present works of poetry, experimental writing and literature on the blockchain that enhance, reinvent and reimagine the relationship between the text and the image, the analog and the digital, ultimately opening up a space for dialogue that blurs and challenges the lines that divide.
