KARL SF | San FRANCISCO

We’re thrilled to announce exhibited.at’s participation in KARL: The Art of Fashion, opening October 3 2025 at Levi’s Plaza in San Francisco. This fall edition of KARL brings together galleries, nonprofits, and creative organizations across the Bay Area in a celebration of how fashion, fiber, and mixed media continue to expand the language of contemporary art.

The exhibition opens with a live fashion show by the acclaimed designer Brandin Vaughn, known for dressing some of the world’s most influential performers, including Beyoncé on her Renaissance and Cowboy Carter tours. From there, the show unfolds into a cross-disciplinary presentation of artists and designers who embrace fabric, thread, and gesture as tools for storytelling and meaning-making.

For us at exhibited.at, this show resonates deeply. Many of the artists we champion blur the line between painting, craft, and material exploration. To present their work within the context of fashion and textile traditions is to underscore what we’ve long believed: that so-called “craft” belongs firmly within the canon of fine art, and that fabric, collage, and surface are as conceptual and revered as they are tactile. We’re honored to stand alongside fellow participating organizations including COL Gallery, Jonathan Carver Moore, Venus & Victory, TINT Gallery, and others. Together, we’re reclaiming the language of material: thread, cloth, dye, touch as a way to explore identity, memory, and community.

KARL is always about more than an exhibition. It’s about connection, collaboration, and challenging hierarchies of what art can be. We can’t wait to share our artists’ voices in this dialogue, and to welcome you to Levi’s Plaza this October.
